FACE OF A PROUD PEOPLE

Growing up next to the Yavapai/Apache Indian Reservation has given Bill a daily association with the tribe since childhood, which included friendships with several of its members.  In a rare departure from his usual creative style, Nebeker has chosen a unique sculptural approach for his portrayal of an Apache warrior of the 19th century. In this bronze wall hanging, Bill has been able to infuse the pride, confidence, honor and humanity of an entire people onto one face.  Use your imagination and travel back across time to vicariously participate in a single moment in the conflicted history between the settlers of Prescott in the Arizona Territory and one of her many Native American sons.
