The Phippen Museum Western Art Show and Sale — a Memorial Day weekend tradition since 1974 and the state’s premier outdoor western art sale — is held each year in downtown Prescott, Arizona, the Cowboy Capital of the American West and ‘Everybody’s Hometown’. And the 2015 event marks the show’s 41st anniversary and features more than 100 talented artists from all across North America and Canada displaying artwork in booths on the courthouse plaza.

“The Show and Sale provides local residents and visitors to Prescott with a chance to view exceptional western art and interact with professional Western artists from throughout the nation and abroad,” commented Kim Villalpando, Phippen Museum Executive Director. “And what’s so exciting is that many of the participating artists from past shows have eventually gone on to become some of the most well known and celebrated Western artists today.”

The Phippen Museum Western Art Show and Sale is free to the public and features outstanding art of the American West represented in oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, pastels, sculpture and drawing. The Phippen Museum believes the true spirit of the American West is preserved in its art and this show brings together artists of the highest caliber, art enthusiasts and collectors from all over the country to celebrate Prescott’s rich western heritage and culture.
