Cowboy Artists of America 50th Anniversary Retrospective Exhibition

November 7, 2015

To celebrate CAA’s golden anniversary and the contributions of its 77 artists to fine art and Western culture, Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West presents “A Salute to Cowboy Artists of America and a Patron, the Late Eddie Basha: 50 Years of Amazing Contributions to the American West.” The exhibition opens to the public at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 7.

Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey will proclaim November 2-8, 2016 as Cowboy Artists of America week in Arizona. This will be presented at the private opening reception on November 6th, but will hang in the museum for the duration of the exhibition: November 7, 2015 through May 31, 2016.

Renew your friendship with Bill Nebeker, President of the Cowboy Artists of America for the 4th term.  Bill will be there to welcome you back to this exceptional and historic exhibition, tell stories, jokes, as well as maybe play some cowboy songs on his guitar.  You will also be able to observe Martin Grelle and Bruce Greene present painting demos, Oreland Joe create a stone sculpture and John Coleman sculpt one of his masterpiece clays.  Begin the day at 9:30 am with an autograph party where you can get copies of B. Byron Price’s commemorative book “The Sons of Charlie Russell: Celebrating 50 Years of the Cowboy Artists of America.”, signed by each of the CAA artists.
