AMONG HIS ANCESTORS

For eons of time, large Mule Deer bucks have been very elusive to hunt. Since early humans lived in North America they have hunted these deer for their hides to make clothing and teepees, for their meat, and antlers to make into tools and weapons. These ancient peoples painted and etched animals and their hunters, onto the rocks and stones to leave stories for future generations of their tribe.

This big buck is bedded down among trees and rocks unaware that he is resting Among His Ancestors, depicted in petroglyphs being pursued by hunters of long ago.
