PROUD AND FREE

The beautiful image of horses running free with manes and tails flowing in the wind is what causes most people to love them.  The intimate relationship between “man” and horse is one what myths and legend are made of.  These stories can be about the American Cowboy, a young girl and her beloved friend, as in “National Velvet”, or the Indian warrior and his Paint pony.  In this sculpture Bill depicts the natural beauty of the animal differently than his usual well trained rope horse, cow smart ranch horse or the lean tough range horse of the historic cattle drives.  Here is the grace, beauty and power of a wild stallion inherited from thousands of years of ancestry that makes him Proud and Free.
